This is a costume made for the Telemark Exhibition in 2018. As a previous Scholarship winner I got an invitation to be a guest exhibitor for this event. And being completely free to make whatever I wanted, I chose to go mad with handmade wooden beads!
Each bead in the cape is individually cut, painted and woven in. I wanted to use second hand materials so the mask and the other leather details comes from an old leather couch.
I leally like to make swords, so I did not miss the opportunity of adding one to the costume!
This is some process photos of the mask. It ended up with a really creepy mummified look.
These are some tests I did that did not make it to the final costume, but i think they look really nice, and I hope to get the chance to make more costumes within this theme in the future.
This was a very time consuming project that I enjoyed a lot, to me the process was probably more interesting than the final result. I just wanted to experiment with materials and silhouette.
Thank you for taking a look!
